Time Warner Cable Enters Deal With Univision To Offer ‘FIFA World Cup On Demand’

Time Warner Cable has signed a deal with the U.S. Spanish-language rights holder of 2010 World Cup Soccer ‘Univision’ to deliver all 64 games on demand.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa games will be available 24 hours after broadcast on Lo Mejor On Demand (LMOD). This is Time Warner digital cable’s first Hispanic free on demand channel, carried in Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, New York City, the Carolinas and the North East regions.

All 64 games will be available on demand for a month after the final match. Additional programming on LMOD includes popular Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision programs like:

  • El Show de Cristina
  • Escandalo TV
  • Sabado Gigante and
  • Don Francisco Presenta

Sam Howe, chief marketing officer for Time Warner Cable said “We are dedicated to offering our Hispanic customers the content they love the most, which is why we are proud to enable them to experience all 64 games on their schedule.”
