Oscar de la Hoya, a legendary boxing hero was awarded with “DIRECTV Mas Community Service Award” and $250,000 contribution to the Oscar de la Hoya Foundation. The Mexican American boxer, Oscar de la Hoya was recognized for his philanthropic work and commitment to education in his hometown of East Los Angeles. DIRECTV Mas, which offers Spanish and English-language programming, has created the award in 2008 to distinguish outstanding Latino leaders who consistently provide opportunities in the community. DIRECTV Más is dedicated to making this award an annual tradition.
