Comcast To Launch 50 Mbps High-Speed Internet Service in North Fulton County

Comcast has announced that it will launch DOCSIS 3.0 to provide 50 Mbps High-Speed Internet Service to the subscribers in the Atlanta’s North Fulton County. Comcast will deliver the high-speed internet in December in North Fulton County and the service will be extended to other communities in 2009. Subscribers will receive double the speed that they receive at present without any extra price. Comcast will launch a new echelon of Internet speed tiers, which will redefine the customer experience online and create a platform for Internet innovation in the years ahead.

Gene Shatlock, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Atlanta market said “Wideband will utilize our fiber optic network that is already in the ground in neighborhoods across our footprint. With this next generation of service, our customers’ online experience will be dramatically enhanced. Best of all, this service will continue to be launched in Atlanta throughout 2009 making it available to all of our customers throughout the service area.”
