Ubiquity Broadcasting Corporation has made history again while broadcasting the 2011 Sponsor Me Sunset Open using its patented IP backhaul technology.

Time Warner Cable has signed a deal with the U.S. Spanish-language rights holder of 2010 World Cup Soccer ‘Univision’ to deliver all 64 games on demand.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa games will be available 24 hours after broadcast on Lo Mejor On Demand (LMOD). This is Time Warner digital cable’s first Hispanic free on demand channel, carried in Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, New York City, the Carolinas and the North East regions.

All 64 games will be available on demand for a month after the final match. Additional programming on LMOD includes popular Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision programs like:

• El Show de Cristina
• Escandalo TV
• Sabado Gigante and
• Don Francisco Presenta

Time Warner has aanounced the launch of Mun2 in Los Angeles. Mun2 is a national Cable TV station targeting young Latinos in the United States. Time Warner has added the channel on its variety tier and will be available to 2 million households in Los Angeles.

Mun2 senior vice president and general manager Alex Pels in a statement said “We’re excited to announce our much-awaited distribution increase in LA, Los Angeles is the largest Latino market in the nation which is why we decided to relocate and relaunch the network in LA back in 2005, so having a strong presence in this marketplace is key for the evolution of our network and brand.”

Time Warner Cable has announced that it will carry the local CW affiliate owned by LIN TV, WNLO-TV in high-definition on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The cable operator will add WNLO in HD as part of the retransmission deal that LIN and Time Warner.

Time Warner Cable North Texas has reached a distribution agreement with NBC Universal (NBCU) to broadcast 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Time Warner Cable agreement will allow the cable operator to broadcast more than 1,200 total hours of Olympics coverage on seven of NBCU networks like NBC, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo and Universal HD. Time Warner Cable North Texas is delivering to its customers Free On Demand and HD services, as well as broadband content from NBCOlympics.com via a link from the Time Warner Cable Road Runner website.

Time Warner Cable’s HD sport-specific channels will be delivered to subscribers in the upgraded HD areas including Dallas, Plano, Richardson, Flower Mound, Double Oak, Highland Village Lewisville, Coppell, Grapevine, Irving, Mesquite, Bedford, Colleyville and Euless.

Time Warner will also deliver more than 800 hours of HD coverage on select NBCU HD networks

NBC HD Local – 225 hours of HD coverage

NBC Universal HD – Channel 742 – 379 hours of simulcasts and re-airs of CNBC and MSNBC

CNBC HD+ – Channel 742 – Simulcast, 95.5 hours

USA HD – Channel 743 – Simulcast, 165 hours

HD sport-specific channels: NBC Olympic Soccer Channel and NBC Olympic Basketball Channel, approximately 12 hours per day during the Games.
